Grand, luxurious and did we say grand? Chateux house is everything and more when it comes to French provincial design. The brief was to provide 6 bedrooms with private ensuits, 3 living areas, 3 outdoor areas, 2 bathrooms, theatre room, 1 study and so much more. It’s all in the detail from the mouldings in the wall, the ceiling, the doors right through to incorporating large French windows, balustrades and balconies which had our team of interior designers working hard to fill out every specification and source out furnishings that would combine the world of art and design to complete this project. This 85 square home incorporated warm tones, earthy colours and slight introduction of gold to demonstrate the true standard of French provincial living.

C.M. HOUSE

Heidelberg Heights, VIC | Unit Development

COUNCIL: Banyule City Council
SITE: 555m2
STATUS: Complete

Our client had proposed a double storey townhouse to the rear of an existing dwelling on a total 555m2 corner allotment and we made it work. The site was subdivided to work with a 201m2 lot and a proposal was provided to construct a double story townhouse incorporating 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, powder room, study and 2 outdoor living areas. The boundaries were pushed with the limited lot size, however, a well approached planning application and respectful design to the neighbourhood achieved a positive outcome. The brief for the interior work was to keep it modern and fresh to which we only incorporated cool tones with a mixture of whites, greys and subtle blacks. Our client wanted to ensure that the spaces were kept open and ensuring that windows were strategically placed to allow for natural light to dominate the property.

JUXTA HOUSE

Ballarat, VIC | Single Residence

COUNCIL: City of Ballarat
SITE: 595m2
STATUS: Complete

Would you believe this home is nearly 140 years old? This heritage listed home that boasts the suburbs architectural history had us excited to partner up with our client to take on a modern extension to the rear of the home. The brief was to give the home a facelift to its existing facade at the front, incorporate an open plan living area, modernise interiors and maximise space by extending the home at the back. We opted for a dark cladding material to the modern extension so the design would show off the juxtaposition between the old and the new. The extension would result in an extra bedroom, outdoor entertaining area, new garage and carport. We respected the need to preserve as much of the home’s natural and existing materials as much as possible, however, our client wasn’t shy to render inside a complete modern interior spec that would stand the test of time.
